The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been rampant.
The first season presents a large cast of characters residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.
The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the creator commented recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.
That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season moves, and how many of what they're waiting for happens now.
"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."
The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.
"I've come across a few fans create a prediction grid about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
